REI Young Researcher Awards

The REI Local Organizing Committee and the International Committee assigned the Young Researcher Awards sponsored by Veneto Nanotech and Nuova Ompi - Gruppo Stevanato to the following brilliant Young Researchers, who have presented their work at REI-15 as Oral or Poster contribution:

Best Young Researcher Award for the best oral presentation:

  • Clare Bishop
    Imperial College London (United Kingdom)
    Modelling cascade events in uranium dioxide

  • Beatrice Schuster
    GSI Helmhotzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung, Darmstadt (Germany)
    Phase transformation of ZrO2 induced by ion irradiation at high pressure
The two winners received a Certificate and a Prize of 300€ each.

Best Poster Award for the best poster presentation:

  • Denis Gryaznov
    Institute for Transuranium Elements, Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen (Germany)
    Radiation defects behavior in oxide nuclear fuels: first principles modelling and helium release measurements

  • Sandra Moll
    CNRS - CSNSM, Université d'Orsay, Paris-Sud, Orsay (France)
    Effects of composition on the behaviour of pyrochlores irradiated with swift heavy ions
The two winners received a Certificate and a Prize of 200€ each.

The Young Researcher Award Ceremony took place during the last day of the Conference (Sept.4, 2009) in the presence of the Rector of University of Padova, Prof. Vincenzo Milanesi, of the President of Veneto Nanotech, Dr. Luigi Rossi Luciani and of the President of Stevanato Group, Cav. Sergio Stevanato.
