How to reach Padova

by Plane
The nearest and by far the most convenient airport is Venice "Marco Polo", 40 kilometers East of Padova. Other smaller airports near Padova are Treviso and Verona. From Venice Airport to Padova:

  • Shuttle Service: a collective shuttle service is available on request from the airport directly to the Hotels (one-way or round trip). It takes about 40-45 min. More details about costs and booking are available at the Official Travel Agency page.

  • Bus: there are `SITA´ buses every 30 minutes from Venice airport to Padova and vice-versa. The ride takes approximately one hour (depending on traffic conditions). The final stop in Padova is Piazzale Boschetti, just a short walk away from the conference venue. The ticket is about 6 € (one-way).

  • Taxi: The taxi ride can be very expensive, around € 100 (one-way).

by Train
Padova is both on the Venezia-Milano-Torino and on the Venezia-Roma lines (many trains are available). In Padova the train station is quite close to the conference venue, a 10-15 minutes walk if you do not have heavy luggage. Train schedules can be consulted at the Trenitalia website.

by Car
Padova is linked by highways with Venezia (A4), Milano (A4) and Bologna (A13). The typical ride time from downtown Roma to downtown Padova (about 500 kilometers) is of the order of 5-6 hours, but has a large variation according to weather, peak hours, and works on the highway. All the highways in Northern Italy require a toll, paid when exiting; a ticket automatically issued to the driver when entering the highway is required for payment.
